for some reason i'm trying to use a POP program (Inbox) on Microsoft Pocket PC 2002 to send email, but I can't send to any email address outside of my provider <i.e my address is from eircom.net, i can only send to eircom.net addresses>. if i try to send outside of eircom, i get an error email message back saying "invalid message recipients." has anyone else had this problem or might know where to go on the net to find out how to fix this problem?

I havn't used my pocket PC musch with a phone, usually just a WLAN or ethernet connection.

For a phone, the email server that you use is that from the same company that your mobile internet connection is from ? I presume Explorer can access the internet without problems ?

And is outgoing caller line ID enabled ?

tis the smtp server that is always giving me hassle. so far i've used the eircom.net one, which isnt the same company as my mobile provider. not sure if you can pop accounts. and could you explain what difference caller id would make?

Where I life I am lucky that there arn't to many restrictions from the internet providers and mobile phone companies as in other parts of the world. Although the only thing I came up with sofar is that some of them might block other providers then their own for use of mail clients.

The caller id is also one of those things they could act difficult about. When you don't give them a caller ID they won't know who's it comming from and will block internet traffic. [ which is weird as they know who you are even without CI turned on :P ].

That where the only things I came up with other people appeard to have problems with.

Can you recieve emails from your POP server without problems ?

And have you tried sending emails with and without username and password ?

in your email settings, is there a password in the SMTP settings ?

Try it with and without just to see what happends.

You might want to check with your mobile email provider if it is possible for you to email with another account then your providers. . ..
