I just read the legend of Ampoliros in the DE. I think that McNelly is a genius comming up with such a good story. :)

If you haven't read it I would recommend reading it.

[hide]maybe that ship was the enemy they encountered in House Corrino when the heighliner was malfunctioning. lol, just a thought.[/hide]

thanks vanguard :) it isnt the best stuff I have ever written, and there are some mistakes, but I think it is pretty good.

you are right man, Ampoliros is one of my favorite stories. If you like that, read ibrahim von holtzmen's story. It is one of my favorites in the whole DE. also read about the zensunni and read well... all of it! lol. :)

I've always iked that story in the DE (and briefly, in Dune). TMA's account is also pretty good. Search the fanfic board for it - it's worth it.

what should I search for then?

and thanks for telling me about those stories TMA, I will read them as soon as I get the chance.

hmm... I think you are one of the coolest posters on this board, I am not kidding at all about that. STill though, your nuts for saying that. You crazy nut! lol ahem...

Thanks TMA! :) I think we have the same opinions on many matters within politics and religion.

but maybe not on this specific matter. nevertheless I did like the part about him returning once every one thousand and something year, but I thought that no person could live like that by himself for so long, and I always thought of the machines as evil.

I like good endings for such good men. But I do not know the whole story of the BJ since there are more books coming so we will see...

Time dialation from near light speed is what enabled them to live, of course it is just a myth within fiction.lol

In the DE it says that they suffered from mass hysteria, caused by some sort of viral or bacterial agent.

If you reach speeds only microns away from the constant, time could slow for more than thousands of years.

you also understand that this really is The Flying Dutchman of Dune. It is a total myth, especially propegated by deep space pilotes way early in the empirium. It spread from planet to planet as folk lore and as the DE says, contains some half truths but nothing totally be trusted.

yeah I did knew right after I read it that it is the almost the same as the flying dutchman. it still is cool though, since it is in space.

I think that last ship to have seen the flying dutchman was a warship during the first or second world war.
