every book has a hero that comes, saves the day, and everything supposedly lives happily ever after. Historically though, it has always been the case that things never get any better when things change supposedly for the Good.

the fremen got what they wanted, but soon learned that the way they had lived all their life as a culture gave them stability and true happiness. they wanted change, but wanted it naively. THey wanted it without even thinking of what it would truly be like.

Everybody hated paul because everybody held to their silly preconcieved and naive ideas on wwhat the messiah would be like. The bene gesserit foolishly thought they could control a superior being, as if it would have no free will. The fremen thought they would live in paradise and that somehow magically their culture would remained unharmed. I totally see the connection, good observation man. :)
