Let's see what EU Convention made after that time. I haven't read it entirely yet, but I think Preamble shows some funny points already. Well, first they can't even agree on a name of the state, and in next paragraph they talk about "federal basis". And the 3rd article: well, Warszaw Pact won't do it better. OK, I won't comment more, first we should read it whole:

Enjoy! ;)

Well there is one point I think is worth mentioning:

On beginning of page 9, it's talking about environmental policy and seems to differenctiate itself from USA's position directly into the constitution.

I don't know what they exactly mean with it. Preference of green parties? That's against national constitutions, which are sideless. But let's see result of i.e.austrian green energetics. They built dozens of "green" water power plants, no matter how they affect river ecosystems. Due to their low efficiency they declared nuclear devices in nearby countries (Temelin, Mochovce...) as a threat to nature, altough they are emissionless (excl.water steam). Now they have hot weather and lack of water, so electricity is falling down... Foolish greens!

All it says is that a hight level of environmental protection is an important objective. Protecting the environment of a country is just as much a responsibility of a government as trying to ensure high rates of employment, if not more so, since levels of employment are not necessarily representative of production, efficiency and other factors which should be accounted for.

For me it sounds like preferring some political ways before else. That's against law of plurality, without it democracy can't work.

what do you mean Caid? Don't you care about taking care of the enviroment, reducing CO2 etc? this will also open new ways of thinking, better engines and nature friendly production, there's nothing wrong with this.

Well, it's preferring the programmes of green and socialistic parties, don't you think? If they wrote there how needed is sufficient ethical education for children, they would lynch them for rigorizity, CDUism...

I haven't read it all yet, I haven't got the time as the internet I normally use is at my parents and it has been cut off, so I'm using it at my job atm.

However, you can see it with capitalistic eyes as well, Europe will become leading in the area of eceological correct products, and face it, if we want to make this planet usable for the next generations we need to start thinking in these ways. This is one of the things that I agree with the social democratics.
