Most games run fine on Win2k, unless the game was programmed for Windows 95 and wont even install on a NT based machine (Uprising) or (7th Legion). Most game companies release patches to fix these problems, If they are still alive.

I think you are able to model into any format supported by Milkshape (3ds,mdl....) and save it into milkshapes format, but im unsure of this.
