  1. Thank you! ;D Even after you delete files they are still on your hard drive until that sector is overwritten by newer files. It is feasible that you could write data to a hard drive to the point that there is no free space left, but even then, some files can still be retrieved. You could even format a hard drive and then go so far as to write 1's and 0's to the entire hard drive but the forensic software that law enforcement uses can still retrieve some files. The only for sure way to get rid of all data on a hard drive is to destroy it, like with a sledge hammer. ;)
  2. ...and never believe that if you delete something, even emptying the recycle bin, that the file is gone form the hard drive. ;)
