  1. The thing Olaf did, was actually programmed in RA 2 itself I believe, it was just a tag you could use in DOS Mode or something like that. I forget since I lost everythign I had dealing with RA 2, and just went to Emperor... ::)
  2. I guess Frodo, but see, what I want to do, is make the CMP file it's original WAV / MP3 (or whatever it was before it was a CMP file) so I can listen to it. This way, you could easily listen to every thing a character says when you usually click and move them, by just extracting the right files. There's no real point, but in my opinion, I enjoy some of the things the Sarduakar say. :P
  3. What's the equivalent of this file? Like, what type of Audio file is it, that Sound Recorder or Windows Media Player can play? Like the .W sound files are .WAV Files.... If anyone knows, help would be appreciated. =)

  7. Open Windows Media Player > "Tools" > Options > "File Types" > Checkmark "Video File". If that doesn't work, I don't know what else will, unless an upgrade. heh
  8. I thought of that too, finding some type of text file that shows to use that exact texture... I'd be fine using that start texture, or like, something else, or making those bigger... I guess it'll have to do.

  11. Well try it. It's cool getting something fully promoted to 6th veterancy, and if it's infantry, making it Elite. Once you have 6, at max veterancy, send them to a barracks, and pump out fully promoted infantry. :P I finally realized that units in stealthed, when they come out of a barracks, are NOT in guard mode. :-

  13. Very well. Thanks. I've searched thru the whole thing and haven't found it... I must be missing something heh. What I'm also trying to learn is getting a new icon's background correct, it's a bit diffcult in my opinion. :P
  14. In 3DDATA0001.RFH, what are the names of the 4th, 5th and 6th Veterancy Level Icons? If anyone knows, help would be appreciated. I feel like chaning those... :-
  15. I know that there are many many issues about Emperor being ran on XP, but for me it's fine. My only problem is, every time I have a "model" folder and replace a edited rules file in there, the game quits on me. My settings are usually in Skirmish, Harkonnen verses Ordos, with no subhouses. I don't know why it happens, nor have I tried using a different enemey house. When I replaced the rules file with Westwood's original, it worked fine with no errors. All I ask is for a resolution to this minor problem. Any help would be appreciated.
  16. Hm. I'm fairly certain Starportable units are for the primary house only. For example if House = Harkonnen, Atredis Then house Harkonnen can starport the unit(s), not Atredis. Thanks anyway... All I know is now I've burned each houses' music themes on CDs and it's cool. :P
  17. Hello, I am a beginner at editing Emperor: Battle for Dune, but I have modded Red Alert 2 before. I have a couple questions to ask. First off, what are the limits for the various values for Speed, BuildTime, ViewRange / Max Range (Of bullets), and Veterancy Levels. For speed, I would think anything about 20 is either illogical, or too fast. BuildTime I've found that 50 is the lowest, fairly stable value. ViewRange I just leave at around 10. Max Range for bullets I edit various, testign them as I go. My second question pretains to starportable units. Is there anyway, that I can for example, starport Atredis untis if I am Harkonnen? I know that I am able to 'build' Atredis units, but why is it that you cannot starport units other than the units that you own? Any help or answers to these questions would be appreciated. :) -- Dark sim 905
