  1. Well, still, my only real question is, does anyone wanna help?
  2. There's actually a couple GURPS Dune games... But I find them lacking in many areas, most of all, world info. I will use them as reference but nothing more.
  3. Well, since no one(Except for ORLOK) has offered to help you might just be right... Oh well, My friend and I said that even if no one offered to help we'd make tha game anyway. So, with only us two doing research expect it(even if it only gets released as a free game) to take a loooong time... Of course, as I've said before, if people want to help!!!!
  4. This is in reply to Mahdi's comment about my game on the front page. "I have no doubt that Mahdi's comments on the rights issue of the DUNE GURPS suppliment was good-intentioned and protective of the fans, however, I feel it may have been somewhat discouraging to those considering helping. I have no doubt that, if Steve Jackson GAMES deems our suppliment worthy, they can easily aquire the rights. They have done similar things with Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld', Robert E. Howard's 'Conan', and numerous others. I feel the only obsticle we truely have is making sure the suppliment is of good quality, both in Writing, continuity, and art direction. If we accomplish this, I feel the rest will be a breeze. However, we cannot do that without the help of those die-hard fans who post on such message boards as this sites', the fans who can spot a continuity error at a 40 paces. I hope some of you will consider assisting, and keep in mind that many of the books for GURPS have come from the writings, submissions, and ideas of fans such as us. Thank you." I'm not going to post Mahdi's responce to this message as I don't know if he'd want me to. But I have a strong feeling that this could be a great game, but it's not gonna be without the support of the fans... Anyways... Thanks.
  5. D20 is soooo not fully customizable... It sucks for anything but Fantasy(And the WHeel of Time one is the only good one of those). Just because the DMs Guide says it's fully customizable doesn't mean it is... Now GURPS... there's a fully customizable game. We've played games ranging from fantasy to hard-core sci-fi to modern and they've all kicked butt. nearly all of their suppliments are great and they have one for almost every Genre you can think of(Including ones based on major book series) D20 will never be able to compare, not matter how many already existing games Wizards buys... The major reason other than crappy writers and horrible ideas? They have yet to release a D20 main book! Come on Wizards... get it together... ANyways, see my other post on a GURPS DUNE RPG my friend and I are working on.
  6. ...eventually... ;D my friend and I are working on a DUNE suppliment for GURPS(Generic Universal Role Playing System)(http://www.sjgames.com/gurps). It will based primarily upon the first three books DUNE, DUNE Messiah, & Children of DUNE. It will be written and set up hopefully just like an actual GURPS supplement. We hope, eventually, once it's finished, to be able to submit it to Steve Jackson GAMES for actual publishing consideration. We're looking for people willing to help illustrate and do research/write for the suppliment(Preferably people at least somewhat familiar with GURPS when it comes to the writing). For more info about the suppliment and how you can help go to http://www.geocities.com/tensens_realm/dune.html or e-mail me at tensens_realm@yahoo.com Let me know what you think. Thanks, Derek p.s. Anyone wishing to learn about the GURPS rules can download a free verion of GURPS lite(A condenced version of the rules) at http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/lite/
