In the 1830s British North America is in the midst of polical turmoil and economic depression. Help turn it around and prepare the colonies for nationhood by July 1867. Score victory points by making connections and completing a variety of missions to satisfy territorial demands.

Author's Comments:

The economy is lousy at the start. Just remember that it gets better and you have at least 30 years to get the job done.

1836 - Canada's first railway

1837 - Papineau's Montreal rebellion, Mackenzie's Toronto rebellion

1838 - Arrival of Jack Durham to investigate the fuss

1839 - Nova Scotia's first railway

1839-42 - Aroostook border dispute

1845 - The Mail Race decides terminus for Montreal & Atlantic

1846 - Irish famine, Britain repeals corn laws

1848 - Advent of responsible (= elected and competent) government to Nova Scotia and Canada

1849 - Canada guarantees rail construction interest

1850 - Railroad boom begins

1851 - Canada guarantees rail construction principle

1854 - USA-BNA 10 year Reciprocation (free trade) Agreement

1860 - Great Western Rwy (no relation to Isambard Kingdom) builds locomotive factory, hires inventor Richard Eaton

1861 - American Civil War begins

1864 - Charlottetown Conference, raid on St. Albans by CSA sympathizers

1865 - Original Reciprocation agreement expires

1866 - Fenian invasion

1867 - Colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick join to form a new confederacy

Other Features:

Accurate port swaps, reliance on immigration to get passengers, trends and events for individual commodities, carefully managed economic state. Production rates are managed to fine tune economic growth. The briefing button provides progress reports for the numerous tasks. Hints for new Canada Bound players can be switched off. With luck, the locomotives UP 0-4-0 and A3 0-4-0 will return from cyber-purgatory.
