Okay, these are three small issues I've been having, I recently reformatted and I have attached my DXDIAG.

1) Emperor freezes in-game/lobby despite weather background programs are running or not or despite in game graphical settings.

2) I recently bought a adapter to hook my PC up to my boombox, unfortunaly, the sound quality isn't THAT great and I need to know if a better adapter will get me crystal clear sound.

3) I still have the issue with not being able to see the avatars on the forum, I clear out of internet temp file but it only shows me everything for about three pages.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]

1) Funny, you're the 3rd person in short time that reports EBFD freezing (at a certain stage). Did this happen before, or after the format/reinstall ?

2) Have you tried hooking everything up to a amplifier/receiver ?

3) Have you done the following steps:

A)Change the show signature images to No.

B) Logout manually.

C) Clear all cookies and files.

D) Close your browser.

E) Restart your browser.

F) Log back in

Before you install Norton, please be aware of the Norton - EBFD issue (look at the sticky thread about that issue).

Cdrom access... I mean, do you notice a lot of cdrom access just before it freezes ?

Run dxdiag, go o the sound page and put the Hardware Sound Acceleration one or more noches back. See if that helps.

What you also may want to try is the zip file in the Norton - EBFD thread..

1. I have had similar problems, almost always freezing in game lobby. Try running Emperor in Windows 95 compatability mode - it completely solved the problem for me.

To run Emperor in compatability mode:

right click on your Emperor shortcut (can be in Start Menu or on Desktop but you'll have to do it twice if you want it on both)

click on properties

click on the compatability tab

in the "Compatability mode" area select the box that says "Run this program in compatability mode for" and select Windows 95 from the drop-down menu.
