Emperor won't start in XP

Please help.

Just get message "cannot create direct3d device" when trying to start Emperor in XP. have a leadtek Geforce 4 4400 card.

have attached Dxdiag.txt if this helps.

"cannot create direct3d device" usually indicates that there's a problem between Directx and your drivers (most commonly the video drivers). What you might want to do is to download and re-install direcx.

If that doesn't work, try to re-install the game..

Have reinstalled both drivers for sound 7 video card and Directx & still will not work :(.

Pc is dual boot XP & 2000 server, have installed on 2000 boot and works fine :) .

XP & 2000 use same drivers for Video card & sound card. any clues?

Would like to use on xp not 2000 as like to keep sever unpoluted by games etc.

Have you downloaded the drivers from Leadtek's site, or from Nvidia ? If you did from Leadtek, I would try the Nvidia drivers..

Nvidia detonator drivers have the same result.  :-[
