1.6.7 gameplay Launch Multiplayer

Good afternoon, everyone.

I’d like to know if anyone else has experienced what I’m going through tonight. I installed the latest available version (Dune 2000 Gruntmods Edition 1.6.7.exe), and the installation seemed to go smoothly.

I started playing (it’s my first time playing since formatting my computer), adjusted the resolution to my monitor's maximum, and enabled full-screen mode. However, right after selecting "Launch Multiplayer," the game didn't proceed, and the following messages appeared:

"Update failed... Please check your connection, Anti-Virus and Firewall settings!
An exception occurred during a WebClient request."

"Warning, playing older versions might not work properly (incompatible game files)! Would you like to connect with the old version anyways?"

"Error: game files not found!
The client will now reset all important files and restart..."

"An error occurred; please provide the logfile to FunkyFr3sh.
Configuration system failed to initialize"

Has anyone else encountered this problem? How did you manage to resolve it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Good afternoon, everyone.

are you attempting to launch multiplayer through the in-game menu? it should work outta the box by launching through C&Cnet. just keep in mind that C&Cnet messes with things in order to prep the install for multiplayer, so I would advise keeping a separate install for multiplayer and one for single-player
