Besides the different cultures, I don't think they know any more. It's just been passed down from generation to generation to hate each other because of the Battle of Corrin. This will all be explained in a few years.

yeah, what a shame, imagine an alliance between the two of them. Brute force and loyalty combined would make one hell of an army. ;D

No no. I read the books, The reason the Harkonnen and Atreides hate each other is because in battle of Corrin ( Or someone like that, when they were allies ) The Atreides dismissed a Harkonnen battle hero from the battlefield because of cowardice, and thats why the Harkonnen have always hated the Atreides.Until next post, Vilgnet.
