Is there a way to get to play with other people in single player campaigns? (CnCnet players)

Yes, select the coop maps available with the cncnet client. Look for maps with Coop or Co-op in their names, or maps like 2P 4AI etc., those are coop maps indicating how many players and how many AI are needed.
