Editing rules.txt crashes the game

I'm trying to edit some units by changing their stats in Rules.txt.  Anyway, When I ran the game, the units I edited wouldn't build when I clicked on them, and eventually the game crashed.  Are there any maximum values or anything that I should know about?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

What did you edit?

In general follow the guidelines set out by aB's tutorial on Emp editing for maxima and minima. Other than that, you'll have to give specifics.
