Mexico's Copper Canyon is said to be 4 times larger than the Grand canyon in the US.  It has a RR running the length of the canyon.

I watched a DVD of the RR in action.  It was built to shorten an old line distance by 400 miles.   Anyone know anything about this line?

Did it use steam or is it a diesel only line? etc.  There are small towns that the line serves within the canyon.   :)  :D  8)

I am not of much help of information on statistics, but there was a video on the Copper Canyon.  Well, that is if it also has a terminal in the USA.   The video showed that the "tourist" tour was powered by a diesel, and not mention of the possibility of steam.    It would just depend on it original conception era of time, which could be before diesel in its infancy.   As to any specifics, that video was shown a number of years ago, so I don't 'really' remember too much of its operation.   BUT, as mentioned, it was a beautifully scenic tour. :|

Thanks for the reply envelope.

I got the DVD from my local library.   I may be the same video you saw.

I think I will do some research on it for a possible RT2 map.
