After playing The People's RR Map, I feel it is too hard.  It also had a editor problem that I missed at the end of testing.

I removed some cargos to make the map easer to play which makes the remaining cargos more numerous.

I had changed a lot.  10 AI chairmen,  Made the Peoples RR an operating RR with stations and locomotives.  reduced the random placement of steel mills and increased random placement of ports.  Reduced the number of managers, changed other minor things.   changed the win requirements.  Fixed the editor problem.

People's RR of China, bottom map, should be more fun to play now and not so hard.

The top map has a bug.  The loss event fires ahead of the win events.  The loss event needs a date change that is later than the win event's date. Just set the loss event to test at the end of the month instead of at the beginning of the month, so the win events will test ahead of it.

How to win GOLD on the PEOPLE'S RR of CHINA without micro managing.

This is the 2nd, the amended map two posts down.

While 15 years doesn't sound like a long time, micro managing can drag the time out.

I do very little micro managing with this map with the following play style.

Storyline:

China is now a growing nation.  It has few trees and must import logs, exchanged for its coal.  It imports tires, in exchange for chinese' goods and diesel for china's trucks.

It imports a lot Fertilizer, one of the higher price cargos that you should haul.

Fertilizer requires the highest count (300) but will be easiest to achive.

Lumber will be the hardest number to achieve (200) and you should split the Coal hauls between the ports for logs to make lumber and to steel plants for steel to make autos to trade for Diesel.  Diesel will also be a hard number to achieve (100) because of the long hauls required between only two port cities that will accept autos (100) and/or diesel (100).

You should transport milk.  While not a requirement, it has the highest dollar return of any cargo on the map.  Where possible let the AI transport the resulting food to feed the people.

To earn GOLD:

#1. You need to have gushing cash.

#2. You should only haul high priced cargo and some of

      the required cargo.

#3. You should let the AI haul the low cost cargo.

#4    Don't run on AI trackage.  Make the AI run on your

track. Too much track is costly.

#5. Let the AI own the basic supply stations and you

own the demand stations you need.

#6. Let the AI ship to the demand station to create the

cargo you need.  To keep an AI alive, allowing him

to haul his cargo to some of his own stations.

#7. Place AI stations carefully. The AI will change the

cargo it hauls to what is available at its' station and yours.

#8. It helps if you give the AI more trains then it needs.

Otherwise it will buy more and haul cargo you need.

#9. Never give the AI trains any cargo to Back haul from

your station, not even a caboose.

#A. Plan to route your trains in a circle hauling only full loads

        of cargos of high value.

For example:  haul the fertilizer (a high value cargo)

from a port to a farm.  Haul close to where you can

pick up and haul another high value cargo back.

Let the AI haul cotton to a textile mill and the Goods

to a port.  The port gives Tires for goods.

#B.   Try to have the AI haul steel and tires to a station

next to the Auto plant. Because of demand I collect

4 steel and 2 tire at this station and haul to the steel

plant and haul the autos to one of the two demand

        stations to pick up Diesel.

Autos can be tricky, but then you can figure that problem out.

#C.   Only ship where the demand in high.

This means you may have to build extra stations when

        demand falls.

#D.   It is important to use the AIs.  I usually end up with

control of 3 or 4 strong AIs and

maybe 3 to 4 other weak AIs where I routed their

trains then sold all their stock,

knowing it would tanked and drag me down if I owned

        their stock.

For a 15 year map I don't buy industry.  But maybe it could help.

Which RR to control is your choice.

Let me know if you win GOLD and how you did it.
