Railroad Tycoon 2 on Windows XP

Hi all,

My first time here.

I found this great looking game in a box when we recently moved and am really keen to play it, only problem is, when I try to install in on the Win XP SP 2 machine, i get a message telling me it's not compatable with Windows Nt etc. Can anyone help me with this problem please?

Check what version your RT2 game was designed for.  RT2 windows version does work on windows XP sp2.

I run RRT2 Platinum on my XP SP2 machine and it works fine.

I think you have to install with Admin privileges.

I run Second Century on an XP2 machine with all the latest Microsoft updates and patches.  I haven't had any problems.

You might want to check to see if you had any firewalls or antivirus software running during the installation.  Either or both can interfere with installations, particularly with older games.

Since talking to you last, I have prevailed!!

Luckily, I did find the correct patch file, downloaded it and now she's running perfectly.

Also, it would seem that because of the security updates etc., it works fine.
