Steam and Downloading Maps

I've downloaded RRT2 Platinum from Steam (PopTop).

I'm trying to use the user content in the game now.  I've downloaded several maps but none appear to be available in the game.  I've put them all in the MAPS folder.

Is there something special I have to do to get these maps to work with Steam's version of RRT2?

SteamPowered and PopTop are two separate companies. Actually, PopTop no longer exists.

What Operating System are you running?

What are the file extensions for the maps your adding to RRT2?

Did you unzip them before adding them to the Maps folder?

I assume by "movie clip" you mean it has the mp2 extension. Both the .map and mp2 extensions are map files for RRT2. .mp2 being the original version file format and .map being for later versions.

Your problem may be due to Vista. There are a lot of older programs and games that won't run on Vista, although I can't say 100% for sure that is the problem as I don't run Vista, and I assuming you can run the other default maps in RRT2 fine.

Have you tried setting the downloaded files to run as Administrator?

Hawk, doesn't steam power sell a striped down version of RT2.

No editor and won't accept player created maps?

I don't know about RRT2 as I have not downloaded and tried SteamPowered's version, although I have tried SteamPowered's version of RRT3 and I know it is a modified version of the released version and does not include the Map Builder that came with the original version.

Edit 1:  I know this probably help much but check these two links.
