emporer on windows vista

i need some help, my computer crashed, i had windows xp pro and emperor ran well on it, but had to get a new os installed and got windows vista and i installed emperor again and now it won't play can anybody help me to solve this problem. thanks

First remove Vista! Either XP or 7. For older games XP is much much faster. Are proper drivers for your graphics card installed? Does it work in a virtual machine?

this is the same machine that i have played emperor on before, but some part of xp got removed or deleted and it crashed a friend had vista gave it to me for free, so i wasn't gonna complain over 150 bucks so if anybody knows how to fix the problem without it costing me a ton of money i would appreciate it.
