TeamWolf
Hello and welcome to another Battle for Dune update, that means more images, more content and much much more. We have some big news to annouce in this update and a lot of things to show you, so we hope you like what you see and enjoy! We at Battle for Dune value the Dune gaming community a lot and we do read and listen to what you guys say a lot. I remember when we first started and we started to show our updates and blogs off on this site we had a very long and productive meeting with some of the long time posters and mods from the site. We need more imput like that from the largest and (to my knoweldg) last Dune gaming community. So if you do have anything you feel should be added or changed from E:BFD, please tell us here or on our forums at www.battlefordune.co.uk/forums, we look forward to hearing from you.The War Of AssassinsThe name of a mod says a lot about it, what type of game it is, where it is set and what it is about. For sometime now just "Battle for Dune" felt like it had something missing, like it was just E:BFD but without the E:.So after much time and thought about weather we wanted this or not and how things would go after. No one can see the future and so we have chosen to alter the mod's name.So our new name will be, Battle for Dune: War of Assassins. We felt that this name is good and still very inkeeping with what we are doing and what we want to get across. For those of you who don't know, the War of Assassins is the war fought for control of Arrakis and Spice flow by the Guild. (not that I need to tell any of you that :P)IceColdLR01 has been majorly updating BFD_IceCold once again, with more radar for the Ordos to communicate to their Arrakis forces and the Supply Port inbetween the Ordos and Atreides base. The map is really shaping up well, just needs the odd bug sorted out and it will be a great map to play!New textures and over hanging rock extentionUpgraded base entranceUpgraded infantry under ice tunnelSand TrapNow the last time I mentioned this map and showed anything from it was almost a year ago, but with the map being heavily outdated and with the new Harvester scripts, I have gone back and remade it once again! Here are just a few WIP shots of the Ordos base.Backgroundsgtp0rong has been very busy with school work recently but has had some free time as well and has been very busy with photoshop. He has managed to make one main background but edited it for use for the main menu and the loading screen.Note: The loading screen is most likely subject to change.New Logogtp0rong has once again returned and ready to work, and boy has he been working his arse off. First off we have our new logo (mainly for Moddb). We felt that our old one was somewhat lacking, so here is our new oneFlesh VatsLR01 has also returned and has once again been working our buildings. This he has started on the Tleilaxu Flesh Vats, this organic structure is the only production facility that produces the Contaminator and the Leech.Purchase Terminal Screengtp0rong has also been busy with making our Purchase Terminal Screens, he has drawn inspiration from the A Path Beyond Terminals. Enjoy!AtreidesHarkonnenOrdosRepair VehicleThere was one last Vehicle that needed doing, and here it is, modelled up by LR01, the Atreides Repair Vehicle. The Atreides Repair Vehicle is the House's only means to repair it's vehicles, so keeping your War Factory alive is a bit more important. Having these units on the field opens up for a lot of new tactics! Here are some WIP shots.WindtrapLR01 has also been busy with our Harkonnen Windtrap. He has started doing the internals in greater detail, starting with the basement.RecruitmentBattle for Dune is looking for Texture Artists and Infantry Modellers! So if you like what you see and want to help out, then please pm me here on moddb or come to our forums at www.battlefordune.co.uk , register and show us some of your recent work. That's it for another Battle for Dune update and there will be many more to come!
