I sometimes get this driver error while playing games (normally with higher end games).

I just experienced this error while downloading/installing MS updates, browsing in firefox, and using winamp. One of the first times it occurred while on the desktop. My computer froze, music stopped, but I was able to move the mouse and that was all. I ctrl+alt+deleted and it eventually came back with the error and low resolution and colour depth.

I have the latest drivers that I know of (I check weekly at the intel forums).

I guess I should probably install the driver again and see what happens?

I'm downloading the latest driver now. It is possible I have the previous one installed, but I doubt that is the problem.

EDIT:

Turns out my driver was not the latest one. No mention of this problem in the release notes.
