michaelperson Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Well it seems in New Zealand (where I live) that alot of people appear to favour the death penalty. I don't support the death penalty. For a start, what if you kill the wrong person? An eye for an eye sort of justice doesn't appear very civilised either. It gives a great power to the state also. The fact that the state can legally and almost morally kill you is a pretty scary power for a government to have. I also wanted to show you my Dune related comment to a New Zealand paper article that was posted and made me write this thread. I couldn't resist. I'm comment number 194. "The victim or the victims family should have the right to the criminals water." http://www.stuff.co.nz/vote08/4717645a28477.html
Dante Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Sure. While we're at it, I never liked children, africans or people with brown eyes. They should all be treated as less than human as well.
nampigai Posted October 8, 2008 Posted October 8, 2008 Exactly Dante! while we are at it; reintroduce slave labor!
