With Vista Breached, Linux Unbeaten in Hacking Contest

So the mac was hacked on day 2 within 2 minutes (visit a url with safari and computer is fubar). It was the first hacked. It was hilarious watching mac fans make up excuses for this over the past two days.

Vista then went on day three with a java exploit (normal 3rd party apps were allowed to be installed on day 3). Ubuntu 7.10 remained unhacked.

Reason for linux unhacked

Some of the show's 400 attendees had found bugs in the Linux operating system, she said, but many of them didn't want to put the work into developing the exploit code that would be required to win the contest.

I hope those hackers file bug reports.

Earlier, Miller said that he chose to hack the Mac because he thought it would be easiest target. Vista hacker Macaulay didn't dispute that assertion: "I think it might be," he said.

Ouch.
