Map Packer problem >_<

I can't get the map packer to work. In the settings, it cannot idenify itself. >_<

I followed these steps:

1. Create a new directory Emperormappacker and  download the mappacker program in that directory

2. After installing create a new directory cmaps

  giving: new directory emperormappackercmaps

3. Run the mappacker program and fill in "settings"

  of map editor directory and the directory to  place packed files ( see nr 2 )

4. Download a fan made map and save it in the directory ( see nr 2 )

5. Run mappacker program and press "unpack" button

6. Run emperor game and the new map will be listed on the bottom in capital letters

7. Have fun and play

Step 3 won't work. What am I to do?

btw I do have patch 1.09

What do you mean "step 3 won't work". The program won't run?  You can't select the tabs? Or what?

In settings, after you change the directory for placing packed maps into from the incorrect default one, to the proper one, (CMaps) did you go to the unpack tab and click on one of the .cmf files that you downloaded into that directory?
