Existencialism is a blind point, logical conclusion of kantian mainstream led into extremes. Unability to understand the substance perverted into refuting and unability to understand anything, conscious isolation in self-reflection. Existencialist is then concentrating on his own ego, either in destructive way (suicide) or constructive (arrogance), others are ignored or exploited as resources for the glory of my ego. What existencialist philosophers tried to uncover was not a wisdom, but a psychological disease. I think that ie Fromm calls it so, anyway.

wow caid... I am in total agreement with you on this.

I think it is in my personal opinion self destructive. The problem I have with it is this. It doesnt seem edifying. I have heard try to place reasons for living and beliefs behind an existentialist ideology and it just doesnt pan out for me personally. With this particular ideology which I have explored in my mind, all roads lead to a nihilism of sorts. The only real way of living with an existentialist point of view is that of hedonism. Because it makes things so subjective, really the only philosophy one can have is their own. That everybody can do what they like and believe as long as they dont hurt others, because all beliefs are equally as valid. A world of absolutes seems to make more sense than a world of complete chaos, of gray shades of color.

Yes, I also agree. Existentialism always seems to conclude, "I'm right because I feel I am," almost always stifling the search for a truth as close to the objective reality as possible.
