Mappacker isn't working for me...

I did everything in the step-by-step guide and it didn't work.  It keeps saying "Cannot open file"

A couple of questions

1- Did you install it into the Emperor directory?

2- Did you download any maps from this site into the "C/Westwood/Emperor/Map Packer/CMaps/" folder?

3-Did you click on the "Settings tab, and then in the "Directory to place packed map files in" browse to the CMaps folder. Then click on the unpack tab and click on any file listed and click on unpack? Let us know how you make out.

Do you have patch 1.09?? You must download it in game. It will instaled automaticli.

You can also get the 1.09 patch from this site. Look in Emperor downloads. Also, I am not sure if you must have the four map packs installed first or not, but if you are looking for additional maps you might as well install the four of them as well. They are also available in Emp. downloads. Just install the 1.09 patch first.

Update emperor game to V 1.09, it allows the use of fan made maps

1. Create a new directory Emperormappacker and  download the mappacker program in that directory

2. After installing create a new directory cmaps

  giving: new directory emperormappackercmaps

3. Run the mappacker program and fill in "settings"

  of map editor directory and the directory to  place packed files ( see nr 2 )

4. Download a fan made map and save it in the directory ( see nr 2 )

5. Run mappacker program and press "unpack" button

6. Run emperor game and the new map will be listed on the bottom in capital letters

7. Have fun and play
