Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't inkvine native to the prison planet Salusa Secondus, not Giedi Prime?

I think youre getting it mixed up with shigawire:

Shigawire: metallic extrusion of a ground vine. (Narvi Narviium) grown only on Salusa Secundus and III Delta Kaising. It is noted for extreme tensile strength.

I think you get a good perspective of what the inkvine whips do if you read House Harkonnen, it would imply that you feel pain from it even years later.
