Great Canadian Politics

Several things I like about Canadian politics:

1. The Prime Minister will take an interview in a Harvey's Restaurant on a comedy show.

2. When touring Ottawa, students can get a picture taken with the drunk(?) Prime Minister. He was taking sips of everyones beer at the Hard Rock Cafe.

I am behind Chretien's (his) left shoulder with the hat (Made front page of the province's newspaper.)

3. Many prominent politicians go on comedy shows.

4. The new Prime Minister goes on a comedy show and lets the interviewer go swimming in his pool and wear his shorts.

Paul Martin also supported a Toronto university pub in toronto for the same show.

5. We can have people dressed up as Warrior Princess and go up to a politician and ask questions. (Done very often by this lady from 22 minutes.)

6. We send down secret spies to make fun of Americans. Note How Bush didn't know who the Prime Minister of Canada is (last video).

Just thought I would add some political satire before the upcoming US election.

Just shows that they are human and not political robots. :)

Anyone know any politicians that try to relate to people through comedy? Or is Canada the only country where you can walk up to a politician and have a talk with them. I'm pretty sure if I wanted to go talk to my premier within a day I could see him. Well when legislature is in session I can go watch, and probably get to see him afterwards, just like anyone else.

We have a few politicians with a healthy disrespect for their own seriousness... 'Have I got neews for you' is a satirical quiz show to which politicians are normally invited (as participants). Regulars include writer and Shadow Culture Secretary, Boris Johnson, and Charles Kennedy, leader of the Liberal Democrats.
