The problem is obvious: WinAmp (version 5.02 I think) won't start.

The problem started two days ago. The computer was on (for some reason I can't remember), and when I decided to use it, the first thing I did was to have some music (played). WinAmp started, but, it was as if all windows in the WinAmp program was turned on, but only for a while (matter of seconds), before it disappears, and no music is played (no movies either, I tried that).

Music can still be played on Windows Media Player.

I have scanned the computer with Norton Antivirus, but it didn't find anything.

I have also tried to reinstall WinAmp, but the problem remains.

Can anyone help?

No, I don't remembering installing SP2. I read what DukeLeto (right?) wrote about it, so I take distance from installing that one.

Now that you mention it... .. .. I did install "FRAPS", a program that can capture ingame movies... the trial version. But the thing is that I installed it, and it worked with WinAmp...

I'll try something... standby...

*EDIT*: No, WinAmp still won't start after uninstalling FRAPS.

The problem remains.

Yes! It seems to be working now. That's strange... and at the same time "sad"... because I wanted to make some movies using in-game engine and sequences...

Though, the previous version I had, could record on a greater resolution, and the framerate was better if I remember correctly. Only one thing was missing: there was no sound.

In the new version, you can not record at the same resolution, the framerate is not that good, but there is sound. Unfortunately, WinAmp doesn't seem to work once you install the new version of FRAPS.

Anyway, thanks Nyarlathotep for the help.
