I use Mozilla 1.2.1 (I know I should upgrade, I just haven't gotten around to it) on a Windows XP system on a laptop.  I use the Zone Alarm firewall and a 56k dialup connection.  I usually have Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Messenger running in the background, and Norton Antivirus.

While I'm connected, I can surf one specific site (such as Dune2k.com), do whatever I want to do, but when I try to go to a different site (such as Areth.org, or Yahoo.com) the browser pops up a notice that it couldn't resolve the connection.  Whenever I reconnect, however, I can access the site I'm trying to get to (even in the same open browser window) but if I try to leave it does it again.  It's like it's having trouble switching server access or something.  Please advise :)

mayby not one of the most safe question, but can you check if the same situation occurse when you are using IE ?

Can you try if the following works in a DOS screen.

trace.jpg

Then, run the tracert command to at least 2 different sites. The site you can connect to, and the site you can't connect to.

If you get 2 compleat traces, I suggest you reinstall Mozilla. If you can't resolve one of the traceses I would suggest you reinstall your network adapter, or atleast the TCP/IP protocol on it.

Yeah, I checked IE after I posted this thread.  It didn't work for it either.  But it seems to be working fine now, I think it must've been something with the ISP.

This tracert command looks interesting, I've never heard of it before.  Thanks for your assistance :)
