Okay, I just recently bought a three-port firewire 9-bit card for my PC. I installed it (didn't come with a disk, it said use the have windows find best driver option) and my iPod will recharge, Windows recognizes that its there but won't show the iPod in iTunes.

When I went to Add New Hardware and selected the firewire card I got:

Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)

Any ideas?

reboot. . then remove the firewire card in the device manager. Again, restart and reinstall the device.

Do you have additional software for your IPod installed ? ..
