From the Terminology of the Imperium:

HARMONTHEP: Ingsley gives this as the planet name for the sixth stop in the Zensunni migration. It is supposed to have been a no longer existent satellite of Delta Pavonis.

Uhh...why then are there Harmonthep lions in the prequels, if this "satellite" is nonexistent??? Can anyone explain?

Obviously, the lions could have been taken off planet and bred elsewhere. Just because an animal disappears in one place doesn't mean he vanishes everywhere else.
