It's the Alan Smithee version, which I've seen, and understand why Lynch did not want his name assaciated with it.  Also, it seems there's almost no extras (just the theatrical trailer, which you can get at IMDB, or most likely, the DVD of the theatrical release of Lynch's Dune).

Personally, I'd just get it on VHS, or just check the TV guides for it to be played on TV.  There are some neat stuff added (i.e. Gurney playing the baliset; the meeting between Stilgar and the Duke; the fight with Jamis; the creation of the Water of Life, and a redone intro with painting you can see here)  The narration throughout the movie is crap though, done by some guy instead of Princess Irulan.  It's neat, but not 20 Pounds Sterling neat.

I loved it! and even though the intro was a bit inaccurate, it beats the hell out of the prequels.lol

Good choice, Emperor.  The AS movie is a good thing to see, but not for that much.  Try Ebay though, you might find a copy (VHS or DVD) for a price that matches the quality.

TMA:  Where did you hear that?  No offence, but I don't think it's true.  ;)
