Okay, so here is the problem. I've just cleaned out my computer, which means that it is empty, there is no programs installed except the operating system, which is now Windows XP (Home Edition).

So, I bought the new card, Geforce FX Ti5200, and installed it. Then, I had to install the driver, naturally. But when I do this, I get this message promt, that if I continue, my computer may be damaged either now or in the future. From here you can choose to continue or to abort. I continue. Everything is fine, I can play all the games, and do what I use to do with my computer. Until the end of the week. Then my computer crashes in about 10 minutes from start. And it keep doing so until I clean it out again, meaning that I have to reinstall the operating system and so on.

Now, the promt (when I want to install the drivers) say that the hardware is not supported for Windows XP, it says that every hardware I want to install have to have a special tag on it saying "This is supported by Windows XP" or something like that.

Is there a way to bypass this, or do I have to install another operating system?

You seem to have the SOBIG virus, msblaster worm,I suggest you format your hardrive completly, and then re-install windows.

When you go online do you have a firewall and anti virus software running.

If not, I suggest you get some pronto, IE McAffee firewall and anti virus.

Ok, because I've formated my computer by the "short" way or whatever it is called, and I had the Norton Anti-Virus Proffessional installed and scanned my computer. I don't know but when I got this computer I had the Windows Millenium Edition installed already.

What's more, I've formated my computer about 10 times the past 6 months, and I only got my new graphic card a month ago.

So basically, the situation is this: I format, install Win XP, install Norton, then drivers, and then everything else. But same problem occurs every time.

Anyways, I'll try to format the computer one more time now...

You could try installing the OS, then the drivers and leave Norton, see if the same thing happens without Norton being installed.

Otherwise you may have a heat or memory problem. If Norton is not the cause.

It seems to be working now... thanks for the tips, anyways.

While we're on it, is there a chance that, say, the manufacturers would "fool" me if I turned in the computer for repair. I mean, what if I can fix the problem, but I don't know if there is one, or how to do it, and it turns out to be really easy (like installing another OS or replacing some old hardware)?

$100 maybe isn't that much, but it would be a shame to loose this kind of money over a small problem.
