Emprworm, your obvious refusal to even read my last post is evident. Please do so, before you talk about teachers "wearing full lutheran robes". I am Lutheran. I know a Lutheran pastor who is also a teacher. He does not wear robes to school, nor can I think of any robes that he would wear. The Lutheran faith prides itself on the substance of faith, rather than the trappings.

i understand this Wolf, please know that I am merely making a case as to the legality of such a thing.

Someone could argue that, and I would argue against him. I've never seen a Jewish man wearing a yarmulke, a Sikh man wearing a turban, a Christian priest wearing a collar, and thought, "Huh... maybe I'm wrong."

And yes, I'm being totally honest. If a biology teacher taught evolution, but did so while wearing a religious garment---hell, if the Pope himself, funny pointed hat and all, taught evolution---it would be fine by me. As long as the teacher isn't trying to convert anyone and isn't teaching about religion (as most global history classes do) in any other than a detached academic light, I'm not bothered.

well i do say i'm a bit amazed by such a statement.  however, considering the scientific movement of intelligent design, what the man in robes should do imho is teach both evolution and ID.  (ID is now required in at least one state, hopefully all 50 eventually.)  When both ID and evolution are taught, the students can make up their own minds.  but ID is another subject.

lol Ace don't even pretend you are on the side of the Sikhs.

You would be the first christophobe in here splashing these boards with anti-christian intolerance if you went to a public high school and your history teacher was wearing this:

you and dan both.

I'm not on anyone's side.  You mistake me for someone with an objective.  Frankly, I could care less what my teachers wear as long as they do their job.  I don't go to school to look at what my teachers wear, I go to hear what they say.  Every Halloween the Social Studies teachers at my school dress up as important figures in history.  Mine was Napoleon (he has the shortness for it) but one of the other ones was Pope Pius IX to compliment Guiseppe Garibaldi.  I honestly wouldn't care if every one of 'em dressed as the pope or wore traditional religious clothes every day.

A police uniform has to be easily recognizeable and allow the wearer to move freely and perform his/her job right.  I could care less whether or not that guy wears a turban.  Hell, he even had the red stripe and badge on his turban, which goes above and beyond what most police officers do in Calgary as they usually don't even wear the hat.
