During my sorting out of my computer due too a few software issues, I discovered something about Windows Media player 9.0.

If you are having problems installing or playing games, un-install WMP 9 and see if that cures your problem.

It seems that Windows Media Player changes the way Files are played back using CD Roms, I.E. WINASPI32.dll

Under certain circumstances WMP 9 can corrupt the winaspi files.

If you want to check this out and have Nero 6.0 use the app that comes with it called Nero Info Tool.

This tells you if your ASPI files are corrupted or not.

In conclusion: If you can't access your cd rom it might be this causing it.

Hope this helps someone ! :)
