Does anyone here play Imperium Galactica II: Alliances? What do you think of it? The graphics are good (not the best, obviously) and the interface is the best I've ever seen. The game has huge scope. The problem is that it gets annoying to jump everywhere to see how all your planets are doing, and the battles are rather simple.

They recently cancelled Galaxy Andromeda, which was originally going to be called Imperium Galactica III: Genesis. :( There is a pre-release demo of IG3 available, though. You can even read a preview at http://www.gamesdomain.com.

what?? They cancelled it? NOOO! I played Imperium Galactica II: Alliances and loved it. It has everything: space battles, espionage, empire building... Good fun.

Damn that sucks. Personally I almost preffered IG 1, but both games were good, although Moo2 owns em. ;)

Yeah, most people agree that the Master of Orion series holds much over IG2. However, the latter is an RTS game, not a TBS game, which is quite a big thing (not all-important, certainly).

Pax Imperia? Hmm, I've heard of that but never played it. Is it very good?

I haven't played MOO3 yet. :( I've got MOO1 and 2, but I haven't played them much; they are classics just like the Civ series.

Have you guys played any of the Space Empires games. I've played SE3 - very good! (The graphics leave a lot to be desired, though.)

Don't waste your money on MoO 3, it's not a scratch on the original 2. Pax Imperia 2 is very good IMO, although it can get somewhat frustrating at times and is quite limited. Despite that I feel I must defend it, I still enjoy it a lot.

It's the same with the Civ series! Even thought Civ3 is very good (it won many awards), many Civ fans are sticking with Civ2.

It could be because all the old masters of programming are leaving others in their stead. Although, I did hear that Sid Meier (an old master of the strategy genre) was consulted during the production of Civ3.
