Many of you might think it is silly, some may not. Enders game is planning to be made and it might be made so in cartoon format.

This is why I see Dune animated as so wonderful! Dune breaks the mold of science fiction. Not because it is ultra realistic like 2001, or had groundbreaking special effects like starwars. Dune breaks the mold because it is so abstract, so different from other sci fi books. It is a good model for the time it was written. It is extremely heady and intelligent, and is so much so that even professors of liturature praise it. That is rare for a sci fi book.

It is hard to express these ideas in a real life movie. The limitations are limitless (sorry, that sounds dumb). Dune is larger than life, and is so metaphysical and quasi-spiritual, that it breaks the bounds of our usual thinking on the universe. It is such a different idea of what our future would be like. I am so bold as to say that no director could tackle Dune and make it well. David lynch did wonderfully, but he did a genius move in making it his own story, with alterations. It is a director's path in many movie to book translations, and it worked well I think. The new miniseries are very good, but suffer because they take it way too literally. That may sound silly, but when you take a book, which takes days or even weeks to read it deeply, you cannot condense that into a 6 hour miniseries.

This cartoon will do something amazing if it works out as I see it. It will be able to do the impossible, and break the bounds of physics, of limitations, of our reality. It will translate the book differently from the other movies. of course it will probably contain the same amount of information, but I think that information will be expressed much better and much clearer in animated form.

Yah you can do more with animated series than non animated series (without adding lots of funny looking CGI). What is Enders Game?

But they did good with LOTR movies, I never read the books, but I hear they are close enough, but they look nice with CGI and such. But LOTR doesnt have space ships and such.(which would require lots of CGI)

also, lord of the rings from what I have read, and I read only The Hobbit and Fellowship, they seem to be more adaptable than Dune, and the ideas are not as far out. that is just my opinion though.

Enders Game is a book written by Orson Scott Card, a great sci fi writer, the book won both the hugo and nebula award, and is one of my favorite books, it kicks ass and is similar to Dune in the aspect that the heros of the story are all so young. (Ender destroys the entire bugger fleet at the age of 12, of course he thought it was a computer simulation but they tricked him, I shouldnt have said that though.lol)

beh, who reads these kinds of posts anyway? hehe

Yah, you probably shouldn't have, as I'm sure that is at the end of the book. (edit your post so people dont read that) I will try to forget and hopefully look for the book sometime.

Yes LOTR is most likely more adaptable.
