This probably belongs in another discussion but i meant it to relate to Emperor: Battle for Dune. But I am confused as to how the storyline is meant to go. I read somewhere that this game is supposed to take place approximately 200 years before the movie. I am not too familiar with the texts, but I know a little about them, and something doesn’t add up.

The emperor dies in this game, Padishah Emperor Frederick IV, which is the same emperor in the movie(?) I am assuming that the one in the movie would be his heir. This would make sense as Shaddam IV is the one in the movie except they distinctly say he,Frederick, did not choose an heir in this game, as the Sardaukar are leaderless. Not only that, but isn’t the actor they have in the opening scene similar to the emperor in the movie?

If this did take place before the war in the movie, then there are a few strategic things that I don’t understand. Fedaykin have sonic ability, that was not taught to them until the Atreides were defeated. They also mentioned in the movie that this was a “secret weapon” so it is unlikely that sonic tanks would be used by the Atreides on Arrakis before they developed it.

To second that, if they have sonic tanks, wouldn’t it make more sense to have the Atreides infantry carrying sonic guns instead of bullet-firing ones? As those were introduced before larger weapons in the first place.

How did House Atreides start with a black leader and switch to a white leader, When Paul Atreides had the family name “Atreides” in it?

The generals for the Sardaukar are the same as from the movie, so that would mean they aged quite a bit. Even if they were still alive wouldn’t they look older? Same with the reverent mother, and other similar actors (i.e. trade guild who seem to play similar roles to that of the movie)

I’ve never heard of the Ordos before I played Dune, so where did they come from and are they human? I thought they were, but all I can derive from them is the same information that is also given in the introduction to their race at the beginning of the games. Is there anything else about them? Were they ever mentioned in the books?

This is just a little confusing to me, as I never really did understand the Emperor storyline very well, and when I watched the movie (which this game enlightened me to do) I became even more confused than before. Is Emperor not based on the movie at all?

The emp storyline is different from the books. and the film.

Ordos was a house from the Dune Encyclopaedia - WW picked it out because it wanted a third side. They are human. Just the Exec is connected to each other mentally...

Weirding modules were never in the books anyway, so they're not canon.
