Just wanted to say thank you to all the posted on my problems. I reformated my computer and installed 98SE and have been playing Emperor ever since. May that game kicks major ass.

OK, how would I partition my hard drives then to do that.

Can I load 98se over ME or do I have to uninstall ME than install 98?

I made a post above about how Emperor crashes to desktop when I get to the EA globe and it was suggested that I use XP. After reading almost all of the post it looks like Emperor has alot of problems with XP as well. What is the best OS to use with the game. Im dying to play it. Also I installed Dune 2 on my computer but only get sound if I use my pc speaker. I have a sound blaster live 5.1 card and have tried all of the choices in the setup but none work.

Eep, 12 dollar game gonna cost me 100 dollars to be able to play it (think that is the going rate for XP) lol. I even tried updating my mother board drivers and it is still no dice. Oh well, if ya find anymore things you wish me to try feel free to post them here. Thanks for the help:)

Well I have come to the conclusion I am just not meant to play this game, I have updated my video drivers, windows, tried every type of refresh rate, tried screen size 800x600, it still crashes as soon as the menu starts to appear, gonna try to update my motherboard drivers next.

How would I install 98 over ME. I have heard that 98 is a very good os to run games in.

What and were can I get the new file vmcpd.vxd and no winamp on this computer at all.

I updated to 40.72 drivers and now the games just crashes to desk top after the advertisements are done. I have my refresh rate set to optimal if that helps.

Only with this game, dune2000 runs great, only have 98 2nd edition and ME. Only tried this game with ME though

Downloaded the newest mouse software for my intellipoint mouse (ver 4.1) and when it is installing it says make sure that the file C:WINDOWSTemp_isD1621033.mst is there and that I can access it. Well it isnt there

I think I may no what is making me crash, just dont know how to fix it. When I start the game and it gets to the menu it is fine, as soon as I move my mouse it gives me the errors I posted above. Is it possible that my mouse is making the game crash?

Wrote down the errors 1st screen is File name VMCPD (01) + OOOOO61C Error :OD : 0028 : C00581BC 2nd screen is Error : OE : 0028 : C0014C8E Hope that helps any

I updated windows and it still crashes. I put my color on 16bit and started the tutorial. I made it about 5 minutes into it and it gives me blue error screens. I set the graphics to low in options and it still does the same thing. Help I really want to play this game, lol.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]
