It's been 10 years since I've played this game (and its addon The Second Century).
One of my favourite parts of the game was that if you bought a lot of engines, that type would continue to be produced for a longer time than in usual scenarios.
For example, I managed to make the Prairie 2-6-2 to be produced from 1912 to 1950 (even if it was supposed to be retired from production in the 1930s), by buying over 100 engines of this type on map Western America.
Have you ever tried to do this with other engine types?
