I'm trying to install Dune 2000 on a computer with Windows XP Professional SP2, using a virtual drive generated by alcohol 120% as my physical drives do not work(DVD drive doesn't read, and CD-RW reads but locks up the computer trying to do so). This is a genuine copy of Dune 2000, i've had a backup file in case i'd loose the cd or my cd drives malfunctioned. The installer always ends up spitting out an error message with the following to say:"Unable to locate necessary files. Please run SETUP.EXE from the CD-ROM disc". Compatibility mode is set to WIN95. I do not have access to a networked computer with a working CD Drive. And i have tried installing by copying the contents of the cd to the hard drive and installing from there, doesn't work either. I do not have a way to buy a new copy, no store here sells it, and i can't buy it online.
