Goal: The challenges were many during the early years of railroading in Austria. The Alps are not the only barrier in your quest to be a Railroad Tycoon.
Author's Comments: The main goals of the map are listed below. There are in excess of 50 different groupings of events with most of them several levels deep offering a smorgasbord of different tasks and requirements.
Provide the "Sudbahn" connection between Wiener Neustadt and Marburg. Build a minimum amount of rail lines or invest in industry and fulfill a minimum hauling requirement.
Deal with the events surrounding the Revolution of 1848.
Keep the Monarchy and the Public happy.
Provide service to the logging/lumber, iron/metal and coal industries.
Try to connect to all the other Provinces and deliver the required loads.
Have no company debt and have the highest PNW.
The map in general, deals with the early development of railroads in Styria which was part of the former Austrian Monarchy. An effort was made to accurately portray the period's historic and turbulent events into this map's game play however, the city names, provinces and most borders are represented as they are presently.
Even though this map is playable for players of all levels of playing experience, it is recommended for experienced players. It is also suggested that for more stimulating game play, to select all eight computer players and to select the expert level. This map will keep a player busy and one should be prepared for many hours of eventful game play. The player will experience many decision making events. Not all choices offered are necessary helpful and some will even ensure an early game exit. Therefore, one needs to be focused on ruthlessly following the overall map goals and balancing it with fostering good relations with the Monarchy and the public. With the multitude of concurrent tasks a players task managing skills will also be challenged and to make notes while playing might be very helpful.
The laying of track for most connections is fairly easy following the valleys through the mostly mountainous region. However, route finding might be more of an challenge due to the heavily wooded areas.

2) fixed Book Value popup
3) fixed various reserve cells --- Update: various reserve cell fixes, smoothed ground slightly near Barcelona.

Goal: Iberia, Portugal and Spain in a scenarios that tries to be as real as possible taking on account these countries' history and economy.
Author's Comments: This map is about Iberia (Portugal and Spain), it also includes a little bit of France.
I tried to make it as real as possible. You can only start in 1848, date of the first train in Spain. You can only build in Portugal in 1856, date of the first train in Portugal.
The map events refer to the most important moments in the history of this countries and Europe. I tried to reproduce their impact in the economy.
I'm testing the map and already corrected some things, but I still haven't passed 1870.
Hope you enjoy it!

Goal: The "what if" map of Poland. Make network before 1914, keep high traffic between Berlin and East Preuss before 1939, have good financial condition before 1989.
Author's Comments: This is the 1.1 version of Poland. It should work with all versions of RRT2 if it doesn't I recommend getting the 1.05 Patch for RRT2 Original. I added some new industry and changed the dates, names, and crime settings.

Author's Comments: This is my second attempt to make Scandinavia more realistic, and with more details. All major lakes, rivers and mountains are added. More than 250 towns and cities are added. So, in this map it is a possibility to have 9-31 opponents. The industry has been created almost as it is in the real life.
The new issue in this version its the events. 321 events(happenings) has been added to the map. The map has been like a campaign. But it is 70% more happenings here than it is at the whole rr2cd. All the events has been created as a history book. All the serious things who happened between 1814-(1996)2014 has been added. And all effects has been changed after the happenings. Eks: A general strike-all and productions stops! The first and second war its added with a high detail news from the wars. The map will not be easy to win, and that was my ability. You must learn about the history, and manage your companies wisely. Not make the same mistake as many serious people did throw the history.
The big challenge its to make a railroad track over the mountains in the southern part of Norway, as it is in real life. Its many big mountains to cross, so its not gonna be easy. The real track goes from Oslo-Finse (highest station in the northern part of Europe)-Bergen.

Author's Comments: The heart of Germany, made of steel and coal. All the people there did their dirty work very hard...
By Guest173 0 -
Author's Comments: State of Germany (1990 Borders).
There are no scenarios or specific aims or rewards for this map. It is just a map of Germany where industry corresponds to reality.
By Guest182 0 -
Goal: In freshly unified Germany, use your railroad to gain power - become Chancellor of the Reich.
Author's Comments: Become Chancellor of the German Reich by 1890 (Gold), 1895 (Silver) or 1900 (Bronze). In order to be elected, you need to be endorsed by a party, and that party needs to have a majority in the Reichstag (parliament) in a year that an election for chancellor takes place (1875, 1880, 1885, 1890, 1895, and 1900).

Goal: The industrialization of Germany is starting slowly. You can feel it even in the far south in Golden Baden. The people want mobility and prosperity. Can you help to make poor Baden one of Germany's richest states?
Author's Comments: I live in Staufen and there I visit the local school. I made this map with the help of my memory, the school atlas and a touristic map. It took some time to create this, and this is my first scenario. So I hope there are not too many mistakes and that this scenario is fun.
-There are no instructions. Just have fun.
-Staufen has got a population about 9000.
-The size of the area is in reality about 35km x 35km
-France doesn't play any role. You even can't access it.
-This is no big map. Just the area I live in, but it was quite hard to create it.

Goal: South West Scotland Hills. Low population and unpleasant landowners. A small map, and it's fairly easy to achieve the bronze and silver. Expert level recommended.
Author's Comments: Hills, low population and unpleasant landowners. A small map, 160 x 180, and it's fairly easy to achieve the Bronze and Silver Medals. Stranraer has become the main port for Ireland, replacing Portpatrick, and its citizens and the industrial centre of Galsgow are demanding you provide a connection quickly.

Goal: Centurion. Expand our empire using this new iron chariot. Let all railroads lead to Rome.
Author's Comments: The Senate and People of Rome.
The ancient empires now have railroads.
How well do they do against one another.
You are a Centurion building your kings royal railroad.
You must make it the greatest railroad in the known world.
Personal wealth means nothing to you. The railroad comes first. (or does it?)
Computer player restricted from your home territory.
Multi-player. The order you start your company is the order that you are assigned a territory.
Goes in order: Rome, Carthage, Macedonia, Parthia, Egypt, Hispania. Computer player is restricted to its own territory for first 4 years then can go anywhere.

Goal: You have been contracted by the government of the new Montenegrin Empire to develop the empires railway system. Have fun!
Author's Comments: This was the first RRT2 map I made seriously. It was made using a topographic map. It covers Southern Montenegro only and parts of Croatia, Bosnia and Albania. I have never been to Montenegro but find the place incredibly interesting. The location of industries etc. may not be accurate. Ports import required goods only.
It is based on the establishment of a fictitious Montenegrin empire. If you are patriotic American you may wish to change the name of one of the criminals (and that is all I will say)
It was really made for me and features a hotel in Sveti Stefan where I want to stay and when you link up Sveti Stefan your trains speeds are upped 30%. Delete anything you don't like.

Goal: Lombardia is a region in the North of Italy. Connect Milano to the other cities and haul cargos to a great number of industries.
Author's Comments: The third map about Italian regions is ready now: it represents Lombardia, the most "European" region in Italy. Milano is a metropolis of about 2 million inhabitants and it is surrounded by many factories. There are lots of railways in Lombardia. I have placed the most important cities, towns and other villages where there are important railway junctions. As in Veneto & Trentino-Alto Adige map there's no scenario in this map: you may play starting in the year you want, with the number of competitors you desire, with RT2 classic or with the new engines and the new game strategies of TSC...

Goal: Italy's landscape is very varied. Develop the main railway lines and connect Italy to the other nations through the Alps passes.
Author's Comments: Since "The Second Century" Expansion Pack allows new engines, new buildings and new wagons, we have updated the map of Italy in order to use all of these items. You may develop railway lines starting from 1839 and go on until you want. New events have been added, like facilities for connecting Italy to Africa or the eruption of the volcano Vesuvio. Enjoy Italy.map and don't forget to send us your remarks. (Thanks to your messages we have improved again Italy's landscape)

Goal: King Speedy hunts for "Alci" by the whole north Germany! A funny pursuit race full of eroticism and "bock-beer"
Author's Comments: This is a map and Scenario of north-Germany. It never takes up for himself, to be identical with the real north-Germany. It`s fictitious ! Quite the reverse: The map shows "mountains" and other "geological details" which would be "one-time" in the complete geological history (what a pity !) My "north-Germany" offers almost everything: Wood, cabbage, ore, oil, corn, ports (yes, it`s finally north-Germany and lies in the proximity of the North Sea), sheep .... and of course: beer! Now you will say: beer isn't offered or produced in RT2. That`s right! But what shall I do, the story deals with this good stuff! Well, regards every waggon as "beer-waggon", then it will work. Much more important are the many "small details". You already will see it, If you take the small details and primarily -the reports- into your account!
The story: Anno Domini 1830 "Speedy" ruled in north-Germany, peaceful and in harmony with the nature and his people. The people were so enthusiastic about this ruler that they lovingly mentioned him to "King Speedy". They baptized his capital "King Speedy Town". It seems, that there were nothing what could disturb the harmony in this empire, ever. Yes, if there not still also "Alci". A never-do-well and criminal. This "Alci" had day out and day in nothing else to do, as produce and distribut alcohol ( beer! -Therefore his name "Alci"- ). This turned out allright for decades. Nothing would have changed, haven't "Alci" made the mistake of his life. He crept into King-Speedys wonderland and founded next to Speedy's capital the metropolis "Alci-Town". Illicit distillers and breweries grew "in no time at all" like mushrooms in ALCI-Town. His idea was a "big north-German bock-beer-party". But King Speedy wasn't stupid (unfortunately, he also loved bock-beer about everything). He wanted to banish Alci from his empire. He knew about his large weakness. Alci was randy to win "gold medals". And so "the evil took his run..."

Special Thanks to Carole, for the wonderful map Switzerland v 1.0.

Goal: The Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway had its roots in the Manchester area and South Yorkshire.
It also part-owned the Cheshire Lines Committee (CLC). From these foundations you will have to build a trans-Pennine route over Woodhead and expand East and West.
As the 20th century approached the MSLR had eyes on an Extension to London and changed its name to the Great Central Railway. All this of course is in the future, and you are in charge.
Author's Comments: This scenario embraces events from half a century that have been fitted into a more playable 20-25 years (depending on how good you are!). The MSLR arose from separate roots on both sides of the Pennines that were connected by a line over Woodhead. The gradients were quite stiff and a difficult tunnel had to be cut through the highest ground between Woodhead and Dunford Bridge. This has been simplified.
As the company developed in E-W directions it acquired a one-third share in the Cheshire Lines Committee, a railway that operated in Cheshire and Lancashire. A new direct line between Liverpool and Manchester was one of its developments. Most major cities had more than one station and the MSLR & CLC operated out of Manchester London Road (nowadays called Manchester Picadilly) and Manchester Central (hint!).
Eventually the MSLR decided to expand southwards via the London Extension. That was opened in 1899 and only the early stages fall in the scope of this scenario. When connection with the Capital was imminent the MSLR changed its name to the Great Central Railway.
-v.2 LYR Pennine towns barred.

Goal: It's 1991 and Slovenija becomes independent. Its transport system is very backward. Make Slovenija become a 'European' Country!
Author's Comments: On the 25th of April I went to Slovenija. I haven't been there since 1983 and quite to my surprise I found out tidy and clean villages, towns and cities: it wasn't the same when Slovenija wasn't independent! Since Slovenija became independent new freeways and roads have been built, but railways are still very backward: for example the fastest train from Trieste to Lubljana (100 km) takes about 3 hours! By car: 1 hour; by bycicle, maybe 3-4 hours. In fact there are lots of stretches of railroad where the maximum speed is set to 50-60 km/h. In this scenario, starting in the year in which Slovenija became free from Jugoslavia, you find no railway when you start. You have to rebuild Slovenija railway system, so that modern fast trains can haul as many cargos as possible between Slovenija and Western Europe countries, that is Italy and Österreich.
The map has been tested by myself using the "hard" level of difficulty.

Author's Comments: Feel free to build a railroad-system in the south of Germany. It is an open end game with no scenario.
Like in all my maps, industries and woods are on the right place. Surely, not all industries worked on the same times - but I mean, that is no problem for a game!

Goal: After the Great War Europe gets back to the business of business.
Author's Comments: There a some interesting engines during this time period we generally overlook. Take time and study them.
Choosing a nationality will lock the AI players out for 10 years, except Austria. For Austria the AIs are locked out for the entire game. Everyone can go into Russia after 12 years, (weather permitting). AI are also locked out of random countries to make it more fair.
Even so, Beware. The AIs love this map. They are very strong here.
Watch out if you try the 'stop your trains trick' to crash company stock prices. High negative company cash and low revenue and not hauling loads will in many cases result in your railroad being nationalized by local governments.

Goal: Relive the glory of the Flying Scotsman. Your chance to make a legend.
Author's Comments: One of the maps found in the GOLD edition of the Railroad Tycoon.
By Guest181 0 -
Goal: Central Europe could all be yours if you play your rails right! Britian and France allow you in but you need to negotiate with the others.
Author's Comments: I've made some improvements in this map from Pop Top.

Goal: George Hudsons Midland Railway, 1844. Build your web and see what you catch.
Author's Comments: George Hudson created the Midland Railway in 1844, and through his financial shenanigans with railway stocks, became known as the Railway King.
His reign was brief: after his accounting practices were exposed in 1849, he was ousted from control of the empire he had created. But the Midland went on to become one of the great railways of Britain. This scenario is (loosely) modeled on those times.
The idea is to expand your company, by takeovers and share dealings; or you can do it by building your own track, and competing with the other lines.
Your task is to get the Midland into the big cities of England: Birmingham, London, Manchester, Bristol, and Lancaster (representing Scotland & the North). You can build, or you can wheel & deal: it's up to you. Have fun!
