Hi to all the dune fans,

i recently wanted to play dune 2000 and i noticed that all blood patches for patching the german version were gone, so i had to assemble it by myself. thereby i had to disassemble all the files in the installation directory of dune, to know where the screaming sounds and where the death animations are.

here is what i discovered:

-> To extract the R8, R16 and RS files, you need "Total Commander" for Windows (http://www.ghisler.com/) and the Plugin "Game Archive Unpacker" (http://forrox.narod.ru/gaup_en.htm)

-> To play the AUD files, you need "Winamp" (http://www.winamp.com/) and "Westwood AUD File Player" (http://sg.redsys.ru/files/audio/winamp_in_aud102.rar)

-> To edit UIB files, you need "Siberial String Table Editor" (http://sg.redsys.ru/files/text/SSTEditor.rar)

-> To play VQA files, you need "Game Media Formats Core Filters Package" (http://sg.redsys.ru/files/video/GMFCore10_2.rar) and to convert them to AVI, you need VQA2AVI (http://sg.redsys.ru/files/video/VQA2AVI.rar).

Conclusion after a couple of hours of discovery:

To get the real screams and death animations, replace /GAMESFX/SOUND.RS and DATA.R8 / DATA.R16 with that one from the US version.

Hope somebody finds that information useful. Just wanted to share it. ;D
