  1. No, you still don't understand: what I meant was that ALTHOUGH the game might do more FPS with an empty camera-focus than with a zillion units on-screen, the speed of the game should remain the same.
  2. Very true. And that is exactly why they should have made the game relate it's speed to an internal clock rather than to the power of your CPU/GPU. Silly ass WW :P
  3. You can't infect CD's with a virus. So returned games at EB (whatever that is), aren't more likely to have a virus than new games. Anyway, I happen to know the guy who runs the store. So I returned it. Pitty. And again: It is NOT the fact that my comp is not fast enough. If mine isn't, no-ones is. And that would be a stupid thing to do from WW. (But then again, that seems to happen quite often :P )
  4. Well, you got a point there, Desert_Eagle. Nevertheless, I feel it was rather a feeble call to make from WW. When an FPS game has an internal system which allows it to run as fast as the processor and videocard let it, that's ok. When an RTS game does the same, I would call it a rather weakly programmed game. I couldn't do better though :) It would've been nicer if WW had made the engine work with a timer, so the game had a constant speed instead of an engine which works as fast as it can... Agreed?
  5. Game IS patched to version 1.09 Sorry 'bout that They slow down. Period. That IS a problem. Ever played Earth2150? Warcraft3? Don't slow down. My comp should be able to play the damn game with altering detail level I appreciate your help guys. But i refuse to lower my detail settings. I'll return the game to the store if this can't be fixed :(
  6. Right. I'm this terrible E:BfD n00b. Hi. I'm not a computer n00b though. I got this nice & shiny Athlon1300 with a brand new Geforce 4 Ti4200 in it. I always wanted to play E:BfD but my previous card (a Kyro) didn't really allow this kind of graphical mayhem. My Geforce will. At least that's what I thought when I bought this game... What irritates the living * out of me, is that the speed of the game changes according to where my camera focus is at. In other words: units move FASTER when zoomed in, slower when zoomed out, they move slower when I look at them and terribly fast is I look at an empty piece of desert (I mean the sandy thing, not the tasty one. How many "s"'s go in that?) I know I could put my detail level lower and stuff, but that's besides my point. Even if I would lower my detail settings, there would still be this behaviour, though less obvious. While browsing through these boards, I noticed no-one seems to have the same trouble (or at least no-one complains). Am I doing something wrong? Is this a "feature" rather than a "bug"? Help me plz. The slowing down and the speeding up take away a lot of the fun of this game...
