1.06 patch error

Hi! I need for help! I downloaded the v1.06 patch for Dune2000 (US version), but it fails in gameplay. I downloaded the game from Nahoo.com (whichis not legal, but I had my own copy years ago), however the patch blocks everything and it keeps saying "it's a spawned game, I may only join/play LAN multiplayer games etc". I wanted to see skirmish mode with the new units and tilesets, but now I have to download the full thing again. Pls help. Thanks.
