Re-ergin999; Appreciate your promptness-some background-had the game installed on a 98se machine & updated to XP-reformatted the drive as a matter of routine-EBFD installed, loaded and ran without a problem-when I attempted to save, the menu appeared but the (save) button was nonresponsive-that is, clicking on it had no effect. I tried both the skirmish and main game modes but there was no difference (unable to save). Since I can't save, there is nothing to load. Curiouser and curiouser. I run a lean machine-nothing running in the background (msconfig the dreck-AVG is activated only when I'm online and I toggle the XP firewall the same way). I'm not sure about the permission but I'm assuming I do-I built the machine and am seen as the administrator by XP. Thanks, jelbe

Looked through all the posts here but couldn't find my problem-have XP and reinstalled EBFD-everything seems to work but I can't save a game. Any suggestions appreciated.
