Goal: After your resounding success last year running the Santa Claus Express for Santa, he has a new challenge for you! Can you prove the ability of the iron horse to replace the reindeer in their homeland?
Author's Comments: As a result of your phenomenal success last year running the Santa Claus Express for Santa, he has decided to try an experiment to determine if railways can do the job that his trusted reindeer have been doing so long, get out those Christmas deliveries.
Santa has decided that one night is not enough to prove the worth of the railway, so it will be your job to run the railway efficiently and speedily to ensure that the deliveries of the TWELVE Days of Christmas are met.
And where better to do it than in the land of the reindeer, Norway!
You will be given notice on each day of the Twelve Days of Christmas the required delivery for that day and where the delivery is to take place. To be successful, you must make the delivery before the end of that day or it will not be counted.
Don't fall behind or Santa will have to call in his reindeer!
And don't sit around twiddling your reins between deliveries either, you have a railroad to run!

Goal: Rumänien - kein armes Land an Bodenschätzen und dennoch eines der ärmsten Europas. Eine menschenverachtende politische Führung, Korruption und brutalste Polizeimassnahmen haben ganze Arbeit geleistet.
Author's Comments: Feel free to build a railroad-system in Rumania. It is an open end game with historic informations. Notice, that the most cities has old names (very different from modern names). The Newsletters are in German/English language (mixed).
Like in all my maps, industries and woods are on the right place. Surely, not all industries worked on the same times but I mean, that is no problem for a game!

Goal: Köln, Rheinland, Eifel und Bergisches Land. Bringen Sie kölsche Erzeugnisse ins Umland!
Author's Comments: The 'Rheinland' - Map is located around Cologne (Germany) and reflects no real geographical details because I could not get an elevation model or a greyscale map which represent this region. So I drew the hills having some looks at a normal map (and by remembering some of the geographical essentials - I spent most of my life in the 'Rheinland'). The scenario is based on one of the most famous products from Cologne - the beer called 'Koelsch' - and on a world-known car-producer, which has a factory in Cologne. I think it is quite easy to win gold - try it!

Goal: Build a streetcar network in the city of Bremen!
Author's Comments: The aim in this map is to build a streetcar network in the city of Bremen, Germany, at the beginning of the 20th century. The map represents the geography of that place more or less accurately.

Goal: Centurion. Expand our empire using this new iron chariot. Let all railroads lead to Rome.
Author's Comments: The Senate and People of Rome.
The ancient empires now have railroads.
How well do they do against one another.
You are a Centurion building your kings royal railroad.
You must make it the greatest railroad in the known world.
Personal wealth means nothing to you. The railroad comes first. (or does it?)
Computer player restricted from your home territory for a period of years.
Multi-player. Random starting territory. Each player is assigned a starting territory. Goes in order: Rome, Carthage, Macedonia, Parthia, Egypt, back to Rome.
Computer player is restricted to its own territory for first 4 years.

Goal: After the Great War Europe gets back to the business of business.
Author's Comments: There a some interesting engines during this time period we generally overlook. Take time and study them.
Choosing a nationality will lock the AI players out for 10 years, except Austria. For Austria the AIs are locked out for the entire game. Everyone can go into Russia after 12 years, (weather permitting). AI are also locked out of random countries to make it more fair.
Even so, Beware. The AIs love this map. They are very strong here.
Watch out if you try the 'stop your trains trick' to crash company stock prices. High negative company cash and low revenue and not hauling loads will in many cases result in your railroad being nationalized by local governments.

Goal: Italy's landscape is very varied. Develop the main railway lines and connect Italy to the other nations through the Alps passes.
Author's Comments: We began Italy.map on the 3rd of January 1999. One on PC and the other on the atlas. We could work only at the weekends and... we didn't know it would take so much time!
We used a 200 factor for elevating the mountains: that's the reason why you see very high mountains, and why we spend so much time in smoothing terrain! It will be very difficult to make the railways reach the Alps passes without overcoming a 2% slope! In fact in the past in the Alps a lot of the most long tunnels in the world were excavated.
We introduced the most important cities of Italy and of the near nations, respecting the real industrial configuration. You may find that there are too many cities, but the criterion we used was to place all of the Italian province chief towns according to this rule:
Population = <25000 --> Size = Village
Population = <50000 --> Size = Town
Population = <200000 --> Size = City
Population = <1000000 --> Size = Metropolis
Population = >1000000 --> Size = Megalopolis
Moreover we have enlarged many valleys in order to make the main railway lines pass; for this reason you can see that the nation boundaries aren't very precise.
If you find serious problems in connecting two cities following a real path, please inform us. If you like to change some idea about Italy.map and RT2 in general, please contact us.
We hope you enjoy Italy. Many people in the world would like to visit Italy: for them this map gives the occasion to see a simplified Italian landscape: from the snow on the Alps, to the cactus in Sicilia!
We thank Slap for his advices, and all the RT2 fans who choose this map to play with.

Goal: Can you make the upstart Great Central the most successful railway serving London?
Author's Comments: The building of the Great Central's London extension is one of the most romantic episodes in British Railway history. I hope this scenario captures some of the flavor of that remarkable achievement.

Goal: The new world order's first major project of the millennium. Exploit the floor of the Black Sea. Seemed a good idea at the time.
Author's Comments: The Black Sea has been drained. Now with your meager investment you must dominate the railroad industry.
Yes, you only start with 75k of investment. The computer players get a jump on you. Now you must come back.

Goal: France, 1830, the French rails are in your hand. Your mission is to create the national network, connecting the Mediterranean coast to the industrial north... From Marseille to Koln.
Author's Comments: To make this Scenario we took a long time, as we wanted to create a whole new France, different from the map you find in the game. Initially we got the map from an Encyclopedia, then we transformed it into a grey scale image, with 5 tones of grey; Spain, Italy and Germany weren't on the map, so we had to invent them by getting the indications from an atlas. We also tried to follow the real geographic features and the distribution of the resources. There are the industrial area of the Ruhr, the farm area in the Vallée de la Loire, the woods are in the Alps and in the Pyrenees and the mines are in the Massif Central and in the Ruhr.
The scenario has also some elements of real history: the "Carlist" war in the Spanish Peninsula will forbid building in Spain for six years; the 1948 revolution will create problems in the goodwill rate and so on.
There are also some easter eggs, but we are not going to tell you. You surely are clever enough to find them in the editor...

Goal: You have been contracted by the government of the new Montenegrin Empire to develop the empires railway system. Have fun!
Author's Comments: This was the first RRT2 map I made seriously. It was made using a topographic map. It covers Southern Montenegro only and parts of Croatia, Bosnia and Albania. I have never been to Montenegro but find the place incredibly interesting. The location of industries etc. may not be accurate. Ports import required goods only.
It is based on the establishment of a fictitious Montenegrin empire. If you are patriotic American you may wish to change the name of one of the criminals (and that is all I will say)
It was really made for me and features a hotel in Sveti Stefan where I want to stay and when you link up Sveti Stefan your trains speeds are upped 30%. Delete anything you don't like.

Goal: Woodstock - a growing economy and tourist haven for music lovers.
Author's Comments: The location is fictitious with place names from the music industry, hence the title. There is, however, a geographic realism, which means the landforms and a regional distribution of industries. The basic premise is an expanding - and competitive – economy, against which several tourist routes have to be established.
This is a challenging scenario and in essence you must:
- Establish five specified routes (and run trains over them).
- Against at least four competitors.
- As the game proceeds you will be offered a contract for a further route with investment opportunities around a new industry.
- Naturally you will have to make a personal fortune as well.
Track-laying is not connected which means that you can develop your empire in separate areas and merge/amalgamate as you proceed. (This is how many railways developed in the early days). The playing period is 1930-60 which covers the transition from steam to electric traction. Yes, it's another set of choices for you to deal with!
This scenario can be played at any level but for the maximum challenge we recommend Expert level.
NB: Hill farming provides wool and mutton/lamb, hence sheep and cattle farms.

Goal: A small railroad company in Northern Germany lives off the transportation of sugar-beets in Fall - it's all a matter of logistics.
Author's Comments: You can find some remarks on the background of this scenario in the "briefing".
For a strategy, remember that people in the countryside help each other, even if that does not pay off immediately.

Goal: It is as historically accurate as possible within the game.
Author's Comments: The PCX was obtained over the net from a man called Terry Sohl, a cartographer from the US.

Goal: Have a nice trip to Switzerland! This map is rich in wood, ore and cattle. You can buy rights to the surrounding countries.
Author's Comments: This map of Switzerland features lots of lakes, rivers, hills and mountains, but also a fair amount of plains. The land is rich in ore, wood, cattle, sheep and milk, among other scattered industries.

Author's Comments: This Scenario is Very Easy: You Start on Year 1974 after the Turkish Invasion. The Island is Divided by the Greeks in the South and the Turks in The North. You have Full Rights in the Greek-Cypriot Part , but not in the Northern Turkish-Cypriot Part. After the Invasion have U.K establish two Military-Bases in Cyprus , in the Greek Part of the Island. You must buy the Territory Rights to connect Derinia and Paralimni to the Rest of the Greek-Cyprus Part.
To Connect the Turkish-Part and the Greek-Part of the Island you must Buy the Rights for the Northern part!

Goal: Ostfriesland nach dem Krieg. Leiten Sie eine Kleinbahn und Sichern Sie deren Bestehen Bis ins Jahr 1980! Jahr 1980! dert.
