TMA_1
Often, I have thought that maybe Dune would be best expressed in the good old medium of animation. It is almost too rich and too spectacular to be viewed anyway else. Cartoons are a way to break the bounds of our current thoughts of the universe. What better way then to express it in the form of animation? Anybody agree?
exatreide
As much as I hate it.Anime would be the best way to exhibit it :)
Vanguard3000
I've noticed that the miniseries has more CG in it than any movie with real actors should. But that's just me.
Anathema
I haven't seen the miniseries yet, sadly.I disagree. It would seem...less real to me.
Caid Ivik
First Dune trilogy would be best as real movie. Just battle and space scenes should be made by computer, look at Lord of the Rings, it's easy to make realistic, but de facto animated mass action. But the enviroment and actors should be real. Miniseries looked like Star Wars, where was everything artificial instead of few actors. And also those colors weren't best chosen for "dark age" of Corrino tyranny, but that should be only my opinion. For second half of Herbert's books, God Emperor, Heretics and Chapterhouse, would be best anime style. Anime is only way to create Dune more bizzare as it was in first books. And it have to be. If it would be another style, Heretics won't be allowed in cinemas...I hope someone will follow my will once ;D
TheAmal
Actually an animated Dune movie would probably be better. It wouldn't seem to be so cheesy and stuff would look cooler. The 1984 film was, well, uhhh, ultra-cheesy.
AlteaDeo
I jsut can but remember that funny movie they made... Something with lynch's Dune sound and dialog, but with Disney's animation images.... pretty funny :)

Andrew
I think the graphics in that disney movie were better than the real movie. ::)

nemafakei
I think it could be done, but the designs would have to be vetted. Tackiness is not an option for such a task as Dune.
Colonel_Worf
I would love to see Dune in the anime form, but only if it was word for word straight for the novel and it went into the characters thoughts. I think it would be a good idea for a series. The book is so complex that it could take up several episodes.
Digital Guerrilla
Not only that but also if they were to use the lastest technology in anime like what what's being used by the best in the industry.
Emperor Harkonnen
I was acctually making a dune animation movie in flash, but didn't got further than about 3 minuttes. I can of course continiue with it, but I guess not since those pictures I used, which I found here, are probably copyrighted.
AlteaDeo
yeah, I went on doig a parody of Quebec / English Canada "rivality" but that's kind of a big job, not a hard one, but a big one :)
